Finding Healing: Why Jesus Focuses on Solutions, Not Blame

As Jesus was walking along, He saw a man who had been blind from birth. “Rabbi,” His disciples asked Him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him…. Then He spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and spread the mud over the blind man’s eyes. He told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So the man went and washed and came back seeing!

John 9:1–7 NLT

But Jesus, overflowing with compassion, saw a person in need and knew exactly what to do – bring healing and restore sight!

This story beautifully illustrates how Jesus operates. He doesn’t get tangled up in the “blame game,” nor does He want us to. Perhaps you’re facing a health challenge right now. It’s natural to wrestle with questions like “Why me?” or “What did I do to deserve this?” But friends, dwelling on those questions can keep us trapped in a cycle of doubt and self-recrimination.

Instead, let’s follow Jesus’ lead and shift our focus. Let’s turn our hearts towards the ultimate solution: Jesus Christ. His sacrifice on the cross wasn’t just a historical event; it was a transformative act of love that washes away every sin. He doesn’t hold your past against you. He desires to set you free – physically, emotionally, and spiritually!

So, if you’re battling a health challenge, don’t get bogged down by the burden of blame. Instead, focus on the incredible power of Jesus. He’s the miracle worker, the healer, the light that pierces through the darkest of nights. He longs to work wonders in your life, just like He did for the man born blind.
