Happy New Year!

As we begin a new year, it’s easy to find ourselves focusing on the challenges that lie ahead. But what if we told you there’s a better way to start the year?

The Bible tells the story of Caleb, a man who lived a long and fruitful life. What was his secret? The passage tells us that it was found in simply following the Lord.

Following God leads to a life of abundance

There’s no magic formula for a long life. But the Bible tells us that a close relationship with God is key. Our Lord Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

Under the old covenant, Caleb experienced renewal of strength and vigor. How much more can we expect under the new covenant of grace? (Hebrews 8:6)

Aim high in your walk with God

The Bible says in Psalm 90:10 that the typical lifespan is seventy or eighty years. But it’s important to remember that the Israelites were under God’s wrath when this was written. Caleb, who followed God closely, was still going strong at eighty-five!

As someone under the new covenant, you have the opportunity to live a long and fulfilling life. God promises to satisfy you with long life and show you His salvation (Psalm 91:16).
