Feeling Stressed by the World? Find Enduring Peace in God’s Everlasting Protection

The LORD will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Psalm 121:7–8, NIV

• God is your constant companion. He is always watching over you, protecting you from harm.
• Life will have its difficulties. But God promises to be with you, to be your strength and refuge.
• God has a hedge of protection around you. This hedge keeps the enemy and negativity at bay.
• You are not at the mercy of chance or misfortune. God has been your Guardian since birth.
• Take a deep breath and allow peace to wash over you. God has you covered.

The Bible, in Psalm 121:8, beautifully portrays God as our ever-present Guardian: “The Lord himself watches over you! He is your Fortress, your shade from the heat. Day and night he will watch over you.” (v. 5-8) No matter where life takes you, near or far, God is your constant companion, shielding you with His love and protection.

This doesn’t mean we’ll be spared from difficulties. The passage continues in verse 7: “The Lord will keep you from all harm; he will watch over your life.” Life will throw its curveballs, but God doesn’t promise a trouble-free existence. He promises to be there, to be your strength and refuge in the midst of the storm.

Imagine a protective hedge surrounding you, a sacred barrier established by God’s love. This hedge keeps the enemy, negativity, and doubt at bay. Isaiah 54:17 reinforces this promise: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” declares the Lord.”  

You are not at the mercy of chance or misfortune. God has been your Guardian since the day you were born. If you could only see all the dangers He’s already shielded you from, the worries of today would seem insignificant.

So take a deep breath, my friend, and allow peace to wash over you. God has you covered! He promises that no matter what challenges you face, He will be with you, guiding you through the darkness and towards the light.
