- Cultivate faith by spending time in prayer, scripture, and community.
- Declare God’s promises and remind yourself of His faithfulness.
- The middle is a place of growth and transformation.

Life throws lemons, that’s a fact. But do we make lemonade, or do we let the sourness get us down? Today, let’s talk about faith in those in-between moments, the messy middle part of our journeys.
We’ve all felt that initial spark, that exhilarating feeling when God plants a dream or a promise in our hearts. We envision a fantastic future, a future brimming with possibilities. But then, life throws a curveball. The path gets rocky, the waiting gets long, and those initial doubts start to whisper their negativity.

Here’s the truth: the middle part of any journey, especially one of faith, can be messy. You might be feeling it right now! Maybe you received a clear promise from God, but everything around you seems to contradict it. Bills are piling up, your dream job seems out of reach, or maybe a relationship feels strained. It’s easy to get discouraged and think, “Maybe this just isn’t meant to be.”
But hold on, friend! The Bible is overflowing with incredible stories of faith heroes – people who faced seemingly impossible situations. What did they have in common? Faith in the middle!
Think about Abraham. God promised him a son, but he was well past childbearing age. Sarah? Same story! They had every reason to doubt, yet they clung to God’s promise with a tenacity that’s truly inspiring. They had their moments of worry and fear – that’s natural! But they didn’t let those doubts take root. They actively stirred up their faith, reminding themselves of God’s character and faithfulness, and kept moving forward.
That’s the key, friends. We all have moments of doubt, but we don’t have to stay there. Just like those heroes of faith, we can choose to nurture our faith in the middle. Here are some ways to do that:
- Spend time in prayer and scripture. Remind yourself of God’s character, His faithfulness, and His promises. Immerse yourself in His Word, for it is a wellspring of strength and encouragement.
- Find a faith community. Surround yourself with people who will encourage you and lift you up during tough times. Share your struggles and celebrate victories together. A strong community can be a powerful anchor during the storms of doubt.
- Declare God’s promises out loud. Speak life into your situation and remind yourself that God is always working behind the scenes, even when you can’t see it. Faith is a muscle, and the more you exercise it, the stronger it becomes.

Remember, the middle of the journey is a part of the story. It’s where we grow, learn dependence on God, and ultimately appreciate the fulfillment of His promises even more. It’s where our faith is refined, like gold in a fire. So, keep the faith, friends! God is with you every step of the way. He sees your struggles, He hears your prayers, and He will never abandon you.
