The Power of Standing Still

Discover how to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord in your life. Learn from King Jehoshaphat’s story and find hope and encouragement in times of trouble. Trust in Jesus and watch Him work wonders on your behalf.

Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s…. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.

2 Chronicles 20:15, 17

King Jehoshaphat gets some bad news about a war. Instead of freaking out, he decides to pray. Smart move, right? So, he gathers everyone and prays with hope. Then, boom! The Spirit of the Lord comes upon Jahaziel, who delivers God’s message. Talk about divine intervention!

Now, here’s the kicker. The people of Judah hear this message and immediately humble themselves before the Lord. They bow and worship. It’s like a spiritual mic drop. They know that the battle isn’t theirs, but the Lord’s. So, they stand still and watch the Lord work His magic.

Fast forward to today. The Lord is telling you the same thing. Hope in Him because He loves you! You don’t have to live in fear or discouragement. The battle is His, not yours. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Trust me, it’s a game-changer.

Humble Worship

But wait, you might be thinking, “If I stand still, nothing will happen!” Oh, my friend, standing still isn’t about doing nothing. It’s about having hope and keeping your faith anchored in Jesus. It’s about expecting good things to happen. Remember when Pharaoh’s army was chasing the Israelites? Moses told them, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord” (Exod. 14:13). The word for salvation is yeshua, which is Jesus’ name. So, salvation is Jesus, and He’s with you.

When you’re in a tough spot, stand still and see Jesus work on your behalf. He won’t leave you hanging. He’ll guide you just like He guided Jehoshaphat to victory.

Triumphant Victory

So, what are you waiting for? Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord in your life. Trust in Him, have hope, and watch Him work wonders. Don’t let fear or discouragement hold you back. Take the next step and put your faith in Jesus. He’s got your back!

See you in the next daily devotion!
