Matthew 7:11
  • Focus on God’s grace: Trust in God’s unmerited favor for healing and provision.
  • Embrace the power of prayer: Seek God’s guidance and strength through prayer.
  • Share your blessings: Be a blessing to others as a reflection of God’s generosity.
  • Live a life of faith: Trust in God’s promises even in difficult times.
  • Seek wisdom from the Bible: Study the scriptures for guidance and inspiration.

Some folks might have raised concerns about me preaching a “health and wealth gospel.” Let’s address this directly. There’s only one true gospel, the incredible news of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for our salvation!

Through Jesus’ death on the cross, we experience a powerful transformation. His life-giving power flows through us, renewing both our body and soul! Sickness and disease don’t have to be our reality. Isaiah 53:5 beautifully declares, “by his stripes we are healed.” Jesus carried not just our sins, but also our burdens of sickness and weakness on the cross.

But God’s blessings extend far beyond just physical well-being! The Bible, in 2 Corinthians 8:9, tells us of Jesus’ incredible generosity. Even though he was rich, he became poor for our sake, so that we could be enriched through him. Don’t let anyone distort this verse! This refers to real, tangible blessings, not just “spiritual riches.”

Why? Because the devil wants us to feel trapped by sickness and poverty. But our God is a generous Father who paid a high price to set us free from those curses!

Think about it this way: as parents, we always want the best for our children, right? Imagine how much more our Heavenly Father desires the best for us, his precious children? He wants us to be healthy, just like you want your own kids to be healthy. He also wants us to have enough to live comfortably, just like any good parent provides for their family.

And when God provides, He doesn’t hold back! Remember the story in Luke 5, where the fishermen’s nets almost broke from the overflowing catch? Or the feeding of the five thousand, where twelve baskets of leftovers were collected? God’s blessings can be abundant!

Matthew 7:11 beautifully reminds us: “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”

So friends, rest assured: God desires your wholeness – your health, your finances, and your spirit! Walk in faith, knowing He has already paid the price for your abundant life in Christ.

Here are some additional thoughts to consider:

  • While God desires our well-being, it’s important to remember that suffering can sometimes be a part of life’s journey. Trust in God’s plan even when things are difficult. The Bible is full of stories of faithful people who faced challenges, and God’s presence sustained them.
  • The focus should always be on our relationship with God, not just on material blessings. As we grow closer to Him, we learn to trust His provision and stewardship in all areas of life.
  • We should use our resources to bless others, just like Jesus modeled for us. God doesn’t call us to hoard His blessings, but to share them with those in need.
