For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
Proverbs 23:7
- Faith can be a powerful tool for healing. It can provide hope, comfort, and a sense of purpose, which can positively impact your physical and mental health.
- Believe in your own healing potential. When you have faith, you’re more likely to believe in your ability to heal and recover.
- Seek support from a spiritual community. Connecting with others who share your faith can provide a sense of belonging and support.
- Practice gratitude and mindfulness. These practices can help you focus on the positive aspects of your life and reduce stress.
- Remember that healing takes time. Be patient with yourself and trust in the healing process.

We’ve all heard that saying, “You are what you eat,” but the Bible tells us something even more profound – Proverbs 23:7 (NIV) says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” This means our self-image can actually impact our lives.
Now, sometimes when we’re facing symptoms or a discouraging medical report, it’s natural to get down on ourselves and see ourselves as “sick.” But friends, there’s incredible good news in the Bible!

In Galatians 3:13 (NIV), it says Jesus “redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.” This includes the curse of sickness! Through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, we are completely redeemed and made righteous.
Here’s the key shift in perspective: Don’t see yourself as “sick” trying to get healed. Because of Jesus, you are already the healed, righteous, and beloved child of God. You might be experiencing some symptoms right now, but that doesn’t change who you are in Christ!

There’s no disease or condition stronger than Jesus’ perfect work on the cross. So be encouraged! Declare your identity in Christ – you are healed, redeemed, and loved by God. And as you focus on this truth, believe that God can manifest His healing power in your body.
Here are some practical ways to put this into practice:
- Immerse yourself in scriptures about healing and wholeness in Christ. Spend time each day reading verses that remind you of your God-given health. The Bible is a powerful source of encouragement and truth.
- Speak positive affirmations about your health. Our words have power! Instead of dwelling on symptoms, speak life-giving words about your body. Declare that you are healed, whole, and functioning perfectly according to God’s design.
- Pray and thank God for His love and healing power. Prayer is a powerful way to connect with God and receive His healing touch. Thank Him for His love and faithfully believe that He is working in your body.

Remember, God’s love and healing power are for you! So keep your focus on Him, declare your identity in Christ, and believe in His miraculous work.
