Recognizing the Source of Wisdom:

One day, Pharaoh, the ruler of Egypt, was plagued by troubling dreams that no one could interpret. When Joseph, known for his dream-decoding skills, came to Pharaoh’s attention, something truly remarkable happened. Here’s the key takeaway: Joseph didn’t take credit for his abilities. He humbly declared, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace” (Gen. 41:15-16). This is a crucial point – Joseph understood his wisdom wasn’t a product of his own brilliance, but a gift bestowed upon him by God’s grace.

Wisdom in Action: From Interpreter to Strategist

Joseph wasn’t just an interpreter; he was a strategist with a God-given gift! He not only explained the dreams of coming abundance and famine, but also advised Pharaoh on how to prepare for the challenging times ahead. This is a beautiful example of Proverbs 18:16 in action: “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.” Joseph’s God-given talent for interpretation opened doors, leading him before the most powerful man in Egypt.

Unmerited Favor: A Divine Promotion

The result? Pharaoh, deeply impressed by Joseph’s wisdom and strategic plan, did the unthinkable. He promoted Joseph from prisoner to the second-in-command of Egypt – all in a very short time! This, my friends, is the power of God’s unmerited favor. There was no scheming or manipulation on Joseph’s part, just pure grace. Pharaoh recognized the divine hand at work in Joseph and entrusted him with immense responsibility.

Feeling Stuck? There’s Hope in God’s Wisdom

Perhaps you find yourself in a situation similar to Joseph’s – trapped in a seemingly hopeless situation. Don’t lose hope! James 1:5 offers a beacon of light: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” Just like Joseph, surrender to God’s wisdom. Say, “Lord, I can’t do this alone. I need your grace to navigate this difficult situation.”

Running to God for True Success

Remember, friends, Joseph’s story is a testament to God’s incredible power to transform lives. Don’t let your circumstances define you. Seek His wisdom, and watch how He guides you towards a fulfilling and successful life.
