Divine Doors: Closed for Protection, Opened by Faith

Today, let us delve into a significant biblical truth: the more we include the Lord in all aspects of our lives, the more we will experience His protection and guidance. This notion is wonderfully represented by the apostle Paul’s life, in which he trusted the Holy Spirit to guide him through every step of his journey.

In Acts 16:6-10, we learn how the Holy Spirit hindered Paul and his companions from proclaiming the gospel in various areas. Initially, these closed doors may appear to be setbacks. However, they were actually symbols of God’s protection and direction. God had a definite plan and destination for Paul, and by following the Spirit’s guiding, Paul was just where he needed to be.

Path of Wisdom: Walking in God’s Perfect Plan

We often face a similar challenge. In our busy lives, we become so adept at planning and scheduling that we might not leave room for the Lord to intervene and guide us. We rely heavily on our own intelligence and plans, but God invites us to trust in His wisdom and counsel instead.

Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.” Even as we make our plans, it’s crucial to commit all our ways to the Lord and allow Him to direct our steps. When we do this, we can be sure that we are walking in His perfect will.

Being led by the Spirit doesn’t have to be complicated. It starts with a close relationship with the Lord. When we walk closely with Him, He can lead us in ways that feel naturally supernatural. For example, you might find that a seemingly random change in your travel itinerary leads you to an important divine appointment, or a closed door at work opens up a new, unexpected opportunity.

Let’s make a conscious effort to invite the Lord into every area of our lives. Ask Him for guidance in your daily decisions, your relationships, your work, and even your travel plans. Trust that He knows what’s best for you and will lead you in paths of righteousness.

Natural Yet Divine: The Seamless Leading of the Spirit

As we learn to depend more on His guidance and less on our own understanding, we will see His hand at work in our lives more clearly. He is always faithful and His plans for us are always good.

May we all grow in our trust and dependence on the Lord, allowing Him to lead us step by step into His perfect will. See you in the next daily devotion!
