Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon; and Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the people had revenge upon their enemies… for the Lord fought for Israel.

Joshua 10:12–14

Hello there, brothers and sisters in Christ! Let’s talk about a powerful story: Joshua guiding the Israelites into the Promised Land.

  • God cares more about the heart of your prayer than scientific accuracy.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for big things.
  • God is our ultimate warrior, fighting for His children.

Joshua was no longer frightened to dream large. Consider this: a tremendous battle rages on, and the sun sets low, threatening to end the war before victory is achieved. Most people would lose hope, but not Joshua! He prays fervently to the Almighty: “Sun, stand still!” “Moon, hold your course!”

The Bible says God answered that petition. Pretty wonderful, isn’t it? Here’s the thing: some people may get caught up in the details. Science tells us that the earth, not the sun, spins.

But wait, that’s not the point! Joshua was not a scientist; rather, he was a man of faith in a dire circumstance. He required more daylight, and God, in His perfect wisdom, recognized this.

The beauty of this narrative is that God doesn’t care if our prayers are perfectly phrased or adhere to the most recent textbook guidelines. He cares about our hearts. Joshua’s faith was brave; he wasn’t hesitant to ask for what seemed unattainable. And, guess what? God rewarded that audacity!

So let this be a lesson for all of us. Do not be bashful about approaching the Lord’s throne room. Bring your huge dreams and audacious prayers. He isn’t searching for faultless grammar; he wants hearts full of trust. Just like Joshua, remember that the battle is ultimately the Lord’s, and He will fight for you, His cherished child.

Now, go ahead and ask huge questions! God is eager to hear from you. And, guess what? We are, too! Our website is full with daily devotions like this one, ready to nourish your faith and inspire you all week. Until next time, let His light lead your journey.
